Baidu Netdisk Easy Download Helper: Get Direct Links Without Speed Limits
Introduction
Baidu Netdisk's speed throttling has always been a headache. As a student, I really can't afford to renew that expensive plan: 30 yuan per month, over 260 yuan per year, and I don't use it much. Yesterday I downloaded a 6 GB software package and it throttled to 100 KB/s, which was really painful. Then I found a method to obtain direct links. Personally tested on campus network with 100 Mbps broadband, it could reach up to 8 MB/s.
What You Need
- Microsoft Edge browser
- IDM (there are many cracked versions available online)
- Tampermonkey Installation method: Detailed tutorial on how to install Tampermonkey in Edge
- Baidu Netdisk Easy Download Plugin Download link: Baidu Netdisk Easy Download Helper (Direct Link Download Revival Edition) download link
How to convert Edge plugins to Chrome plugins, I recommend reading a post by WeiSay titled Chrome browser installing Edge extensions
Getting Started
1: First install the Tampermonkey extension; the installation method is posted above.
2: Then in Edge open the Baidu Netdisk Easy Download Helper URL shown above, install the plugin. Then enable the direct-link plugin.
3: Download IDM; if you don't have IDM, there are many versions available on the WuAi Forum. Of course you can also choose to purchase a yearly license; I bought mine for 22 yuan/year; the official version is also fairly affordable.
4: Configure IDM-related properties. Specifically:
- Options - Download - The User Agent (UA) used when manually adding a download task: set to netdisk.
- Options - Link - Default maximum connections (set to 4 threads)
After finishing the settings, click OK to save.
