To be honest, I'm not a fanboy, and I don't chase stars; wanting to see a concert was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. This year has been a year of confusion for me, signaling campus reopenings and the start of internships and employment.
From student days to entering society, I don't think I've prepared much, but music always gives me energy when I'm lost and confused; at least it keeps me from being too restless. When I saw the Quzhou concert, I bought tickets without hesitation. I feel this might be the last year I can be relatively free; life afterward may not be as free, and going with the wind could become a luxury. On the road I met many people who confirmed my idea: many people have to work the next day; after the show they take an overnight train back home to continue working. This could be what my future self looks like.
I had talked before with Ya Jie from the winter vacation part-time shop; she said she wants to ride a 50-hour green-painted train to Lhasa. The train ride is painful, but she loves the process of traveling alone; the destination isn't important—the journey is the scenery.
Honestly I don't quite understand, but this time I'm going to Quzhou alone as well. I admit I have a bit of luck buff; I always meet nice people when I go out.
Two girls sitting opposite me on the morning train were also there to see the concert together. During the ride they actually shared snacks and candies with me; when they first handed them over I was a bit stunned, as if I weren't alone.
During the concert, at the back sat an older man accompanying his daughter; the daughter was up front in the VIP area, while the older man sat alone in the back row, lugging a huge camera to film. It was really ridiculous, haha. People around didn't know each other, but were awed by his equipment; everyone queued to see the footage—his gear looked incredibly high-definition! Then we formed a chat group face-to-face; the old man said it's really fun to be with young people, haha. We were about the same age as his daughter. We came from all corners of the country, but we seemed to be drawn together by a shared hobby and something we like; with like-minded people, together we’re not lonely.
Carpooling turned out lucky again; we met a sister, probably a local Quzhou journalist, who was bored and came to recruit people to hang out. In all these years Quzhou hasn't been this lively, and she found it fun, so she invited people along. The price wasn't high at all, like charity. Really thoughtful, because the weather was cold these two days; this sister wanted to bring us ginger tea after the trip, because she saw at venue 18 many girls had bare legs and worried we would be cold, warming us up.
First time going to a concert; I think I'll go again in the future! The atmosphere is truly moving; after the music ends and everyone disperses, we eventually return to our own lives, but in that moment I felt like I was truly among them. I love his songs; they accompanied me through a stretch of my life, and that's enough, giving me some inner energy to move forward. See you next time!
