Getting Paid

I worked a part-time job during the holidays, and a few days ago I happened to receive my first paycheck. The settlement period was from June 27 to July 25. During this period I worked a total of 15 days, with a daily wage of 160 yuan, plus a performance bonus, capped at 300 yuan, all of which I received, so I earned 2700. The dream of saving money is one step closer.

Regarding saving money, after reading the comments on Doodle List, I found them very reasonable. So I started using accounting apps again; I tried all the popular ones in the app store, including <鲨鱼记账><喵喵记账><随手记> etc. Most of them have ads, the experience is terrible, and then on Zhihu I found a software called <钱迹>, which I'm currently using and it's very comfortable to use, with all the features I wanted.

The Frustrating Network Card

A month ago I wrote an article <我与狗皮膏药甩都甩不掉的Windows更新的相杀>, which was probably about the fan speed being too high, the NIC frequently dropping the connection, and I thought it was a Windows update problem, but I was naive. The fault disappeared for two months, but a couple of days ago it came back, making me extremely unhappy. I checked Baidu Tieba and found that this is a common problem among Flying Fortress machines. According to the experts: the machine design is flawed, the SSD and the AX201 NIC are too close, basically baking the NIC, causing physical heating and NIC crashes. The expert suggested the fix: remove the NIC and connect it to a port farther away from the SSD. After I spent a long time, the NIC lasted only one more day.

Finally I heard that an external NIC would work, so I bought a MERCURY NIC, plugged it in, and it worked, but the speed was really slow; the actual throughput probably didn’t reach even one-fifth of its potential. Sending a QQ image would stall for ages. I’ll endure for a few days, go back to school and use wired Ethernet… after graduation I’ll rush to get a new machine as soon as possible...
